Hannah Staudinger is an oboist and educator in the Boston area who performs regularly as principal oboist of the Boston University Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble. Hannah’s solo work has included recitals in the Boston and Baltimore areas, recently featuring the Strauss Oboe Concerto and the Schumann Romances. As an educator, Hannah has taught in Howard County, Maryland, and with the Baltimore Symphony’s outreach programs.
Currently a Masters Candidate at Boston University, studying with Mr. Mark McEwen, Hannah also freelances in the Boston area. This past year she recorded the compositions of students at the Berklee School of Music, played with Boston’s Kammerwerke Double Wind Quintet, and the Weston Wind Quintet. No matter the ensemble or the piece, Hannah finds sheer enjoyment from playing with others and making music.
This upcoming year, Hannah is working on completing her reed-making book to present at the workshop she is teaching in her hometown. She is also applying to DMA programs in hopes to combine her love of playing the oboe with teaching someday. When she is not practicing or making reeds, Hannah enjoys painting with watercolors, cooking, and swimming.
